What are HotHands® warmers made of and how do they work?

Our HotHands® family of air-activated warmers all contain a mixture of natural ingredients that when exposed to air react together to produce heat. This is accomplished through an extremely fast oxidation process. Ingredients include: iron powder, water, salt, activated charcoal and vermiculite. HotHands® has perfected the process so that our warmers, depending on the individual product, produce heat anywhere from 100°F to 180°F for duration of 1 to 20+ hours

Is every HotHands® Warmer the same?

No! HotHands® is the leading manufacturer of air activated warmers and has engineered a complete range of products for use in a wide variety of outdoor activities. Because of this, our warmer products may vary in size, material and temperature duration. Please read product instructions on each package for additional features and important product information.

Why can’t the HotHands® Warmers be applied directly to skin?

Although all HotHands® Warmers are safe to handle and use, some people with sensitive skin (especially young children, Diabetics and the elderly) may have reduced sensation to heat. Please read all instructions for use with each product and apply them properly.

Can HotHands® Warmers be taken aboard airplanes?

Yes. HotHands® Warmers are generally safe to bring on board and can be used during your flight. Please note that individual TSA screening locations or airlines may have specific requirements, so travelers should check local guidelines before departure.

Orders placed with online retailers

If you purchased one of our products through an online retailer (and not directly from Kobayashi), please contact that retailer for any issues or questions related to the order. They will have your order information and will be able to assist you.

Donations

Although the need is always great, donation requests for Kobayashi products have been especially high recently. While we try to help as many as we can, we are unable to fulfill any donation requests at this time.

Submitting Product Ideas

At times, individuals may express a desire to submit suggestions, requests for new products, technology, designs, manufacturing methods, etc. to Kobayashi. However, we are regularly conducting independent research in various fields, and there is a chance that ideas, new products, technologies, designs, manufacturing methods, etc. may not yet be publicly announced but independently developed by us that may resemble those submitted by the individual. In order to avoid any misunderstandings, and as a general principle, Kobayashi does not accept such proposals.

Sponsorships

In lieu of donations and sponsorships, Kobayashi actively supports several outdoor organizations with the mission of sustaining and promoting outdoor recreation. By focusing our support with these groups, we are working to make the most of our resources to the benefit of all customers. Therefore, we are unable to provide in-kind product donations or local sponsorships.
