HotHands warmers are made of natural materials including iron powder, water, salt, activated charcoal and wood fiber. Once removed from the specially designed outer packaging the exposure to air activates the ingredients and the warmer begins to build heat. Always allow 10 to 20 minutes for the warmers to reach their optimal temperatures.

What are HotHands® warmers made of and how do they work?

Our HotHands® family of air activated warmers all contain a mixture of natural ingredients that when exposed to air react together to produce heat. This is accomplished through an extremely fast oxidation process. Ingredients include: iron powder, water, salt, activated charcoal and vermiculite. HotHands® has perfected the process so that our warmers, depending on the individual product, produce heat anywhere from 100°F to 180°F for duration of 1 to 20+ hours.

What about the environment?

HotHands® warmers are made of natural ingredients and safe for the environment. Just use and dispose of in your everyday garbage.

Is every warmer the same?

No. HotHands® is the leading manufacturer of air activated warmers and has engineered a complete range of products for use in a wide variety of outdoor activities. Because of this, our warmer products may vary in size, material and temperature duration. Because of this, please read product instructions on each package for additional features and important product information.

Why can’t the warmers be applied directly to skin?

Although all HotHands® warmers are safe to handle and use, some people with sensitive skin (especially young children, Diabetics and the elderly) may have reduced sensation to heat. Please read all instructions for use with each product and apply them properly.

Can HotHands® warmers be taken aboard airplanes?

Yes. There is absolutely no problem with taking them aboard or using them during flight. They are completely safe for air travel.

Are HotHands® warmers reusable/rechargeable?

No. Our warmers are designed for one-time use and then disposed of in regular garbage.
